| Arcadis,
LFR and Project Navigator have combined resources to offer capabilities
and unique experience in the remediation of phosphogypsum impacted
sites. |
| Water
Treatment
- New and low-cost technology for treating
acid water from phosphogypsum stacks.
- Eliminates the need for ex-situ treatment,
all treatment done within ponds and groundwater, using low-cost
equipment.
- Combines neutralization and metal reduction
in water in one step eliminating the need for double liming.
- Uses innovative redox reaction chemistry
with non-toxic reagents to remove metals.
- Method is applicable both at the surface
and in the subsurface by forming a redox front trapping
metals in the reduced state.
Stabilization and
Capping
- Stabilization that provides both mechanical
strength and cap integrity is important for long-term control
of stacks at closure.
- Using an emulsified asphalt treatment process,
metals are encapsulated and can provide a suitable material
for road base, drainage ditches, berms and slopes.
- Metal cations including lead and uranium
are effectively stabilized to pass TCLP criteria.
- The technology is also applicable as a
spray-on topically applied treatment for dust control on
exposed stack areas prone to erosion.
Using
these technologies, we can provide
guaranteed
fixed-price for remediation and a shared cost-savings
to our clients. |
